Summary

Krazy Komix Comic Books Store is a father and son comic book store with over 2,500+ comic books in the collection. KrazyKomix, LLC is rooted in the idea of selling high-quality comics to collectors and investors accompanied by incredible shipping and customer service. We have been selling comics for over 3 years. For this experience, I develop and maintain the KrazyKomix website, locate and purchase quality products for resale, market products on social media, even at times to 1.5 million views in 90 days, and negotiate and interface with customers leading to 100% positive customer feedback across all online marketplaces! Below, you can read about how I designed the website, market products on social media, and continue to keep 100% positive customer feedback!

Designing the krazykomix website

With my knowledge and background of building websites for three years (MYWEBCREATE), I built the KrazyKomix website via WordPress. Using my skills in programming languages like HTML and CSS, I crafted and styled the site to portray the central theme of KrazyKomix: security and quality. The goal of KrazyKomix is to provide high-quality comics at great prices all the while ensuring security in our packaging. To do this, I matched similar colors and styles like Amazon and Walmart’s websites to display our values and the importance of trust and security in packaging. Throughout the site, there are key details that I discuss below which I believe make us stand out from the competition. Below I describe how I present the comics on our product pages and focus on adding the details of each product/comic to continue the theme of security trust, and quality.

presenting the comics

The goal of any e-commerce site is to present your products effectively to your target market/user. The way that I do this for our comics is I provide a standard image on the left-hand side of the screen and the description on the right-side allowing for easy navigation to materials. The presentation of the comics/products is the same for each page, allowing for both ease of use for the buyer and consistency/repetition for us as the sellers. What’s important is that the theme of security and quality are shown with the slightest of details such as the “1 in stock” item just above the “add to cart” button. What is important is that I displayed everything that I thought I as a buyer (from a buyers-view) would want to see. This ensures both security and quality in each step when purchasing at the KrazyKomix Comic Books Store.

Adding product details

Another important step in building out the product page was the product details section. Like many online marketplaces, such as Amazon, Etsy, and Walmart, adding product details and information displays to buyers that the KrazyKomix website is a trusted website selling comics. Any website that is not thorough with details and information such as item description, shipping information, and where the product is sold (other marketplaces), loses the potential to gain positive feedback and a repetitive buyer. The design choices for this section were to create simple and effective navigation for specific details/characteristics of the product. This ensures quality throughout.

1.5M Views on all social media

Matching trends with comics

The achievement of hitting 1.5 million views on Twitter (now X), was an exciting moment for me. To do this, I matched trending topics such as the new season of Loki, The Marvels, Barbieheimer, and Percy Jackson, to thoughtful analysis that related to the comics or books that stemmed or are used in the movies. What was interesting to find was that the peaks were just before the release of the media above where I described the key comics or books being used in the films/TV Shows. I enjoyed my time matching trends with comics and books and continue to have a strong growth of views on X while building the brand!

Not just on x. A view of pinterest

In addition to posting on X, I also post the cover photo and description of each comic that we sell to Pinterest. Pinterest is a site used mainly for art and photography, but since we are selling comic art, I thought it would be a good idea to expand our reach to different avenues such as Pinterest. Pinterest is a huge success! As seen in the left image, this is just one comic where we hit 4.8 thousand impressions, 139 Pin Clicks (click to external link for our comic), and 81 saves (or save for later). What is exciting is that the love of comic books and comic art is not just on one social media platform. Comic books are everywhere!

Today, we post on X, Pinterest, Facebook, Reddit, Instagram, and many more social media sites! My goal with social media for KrazyKomix is to display our comics and our brand throughout all social media avenues organically to show our determination in providing meaningful content!

Below are two flyers of what we send in our packaging. One image (left) is of our store info and expressing our thanks to our buyer for purchasing our comic. The second image (right) is a detailed description of the comic that the buyer purchased. The design choices here are to match our theme of orange/blue matching our website and our brand. Each buyer receives two personalized flyers that give them a memorable moment for them to hold and share. By Achieving 100% positive customer feedback and receiving purchases from multiple return buyers, KrazyKomix has solidified itself as a high-quality comic book store!
